Getting To Campus

Over 65 percent of student trips to Portland State University are on alternate transportation, and for good reason—there are so many options! PSU is located at the heart of our regional transit system and the epicenter of America’s best city for bicycling.

TriMet has 3 light rail lines, 2 streetcar lines and 15 bus lines that all stop at PSU. Students can buy a discounted TriMet pass or Portland Streetcar pass.

Portland takes cycling seriously, and at PSU that means bike parking at every building, bicycle friendly routes to campus, and even a custom, university-operated bike shop. The PSU Bike Hub is designed specifically for the Portland State community, providing professional repair services alongside self service repair stations with tools and maintenance tutorials from experienced staff. Or rent a bike through the VikeBike program for one low cost per term. BIKETOWN is Portland’s bikeshare: a fun, affordable and convenient way to get around the city—perfect for commuting, running errands, getting to appointments and more.

Zipcars, found around campus, provide short-term car rentals. If you’d rather carpool, you can get a permit that lets you split the cost of some of the best campus parking spots.
